(Remark: comment was made for an older version of this article where the camera’s features haven’t been correct. It got slightly edited to make it match the current version) The S56 has the variable shutter (unlike the S55). Also, the macro feature and back light button are not introduced until the 561 Macro model later.

I have a S56, it doesn't have macro.
