- Founded in August 1955 by Hiroyuki Ogino
- Manufacturer of Super8-cameras and -projectors, but also of medical equipment, 35mm photo-cameras, ... . They never directly used their own name for their products, but brand-names like CINEKON or MAGNON. They also acted as an OEM, e.g. for the Exclusiv Travel Pocket XL.
- In April 1961, they acquired the Bell Ko-On plant
- In October 1969, they created a subsidiary called "Sanwa International Inc." as world-wide distributor of the 8mm projectors under the CINEKON brand.
- In August 1980, they handed over their Super8-projector-production to their subsidiary "Sanwa International Inc.".
