This is a solid and reliable camera, it works well even of it has been sitting for years. This camera understands cartridge notches to expose E64T properly. These cameras were made in large volumes and can be found for very reasonable prices on eBay (see below).

Some 518 models were made with sync sound jacks, compatible with the Bell & Howell Filmosound cassette tape recorders.

When buying a used camera: Please remember that there are Single8-versions of the Canon 518, too, that look pretty much like the Super-8-versions:
